Eastern International Library Rules & Current Circulation Policy
Returning, Renewing, and Borrowing physical items:
- To borrow a book, please come to the library with:
– Your EIC ID card
– The title/ISBN of the item you need - Return books to the librarian
- Renew books in person
General Library questions can be answered by the Librarian, in person, by phone, or by email. Some common questions may be:
- Help with APA formatting
- Help navigating the Library Catalog and databases
- Help with locating, accessing, and evaluating different sources of information
Eastern International College’s Library maintains a circulating collection of materials for students, alumni, faculty and staff affiliated with the college. Materials not designated as Reference – meaning, non-circulating – are loaned for periods dependent on patron designation.
- Current EIC Students
– Circulating Materials: 14 days
– Reference Materials: In Library use; 3 hour class loans - Alumni (not Current EIC Students)
– Circulating Materials: 14 days
– Reference Materials: In Library use only - Faculty & Staff
– Circulating Materials: Semester loans
– Reference Materials: In Library use only; 3 hour class loans - Renewals are done in-person; dependent on whether materials have a wait-list
- Any materials held over their period of loan – without renewals – are considered overdue. Overdue materials may incur a fine of up to $0.25 per day up to the value of the materials borrowed
– All patrons in possession of excessively overdue materials will be referred to the College Registrar
The EIC Libraries have established a course reserve shelf in both campus libraries. Primarily consisting of non-circulating textbooks for most of the courses at EIC and instructor materials as requested. Students, alumni, faculty and staff are permitted to use these materials in the library.
In certain cases, the textbooks may be loaned for a period of no more than 3 hours for use in classes either students or instructors.
Instructor copies of materials can be checked out for the semester by all faculty members.
