This course provides students with knowledge of pathogenic microorganisms. Students are introduced to the biological foundations of viruses and bacteria that are required for their viability. The strategies that microbial pathogens employ to successfully infect humans and cause disease are described. Laboratory procedures including gram-staining sensitivity testing and use of microscope are employed. Prerequisites: BIO 102 Co-requisite: MAP 200
